The Pressures of Social Media

Woke up this morning lacking motivation to write. Maybe it’s because we’ve not been away this month. Read More HERE…

Also, the pressure to write sometimes gets too much. It’s like we have to make a post every week, otherwise we feel like we’re failing. Not sure what we’re failing at, but I suppose it’s more the personal goals we’ve set ourselves.

And then there’s social media.

Sometimes we feel like we should put ourselves out there more, but then that’s just more pressure to create content. What’s happened to just creating because you enjoy it, regardless of who sees it?

We enjoy writing. It feels more personal, but we also understand that the way people consume content has changed. It’s more swipe and forget, move on to the next…

After a debatable conversation, we agreed to set up a Facebook page to share more of those fleeting moments from our adventures. We already have TikTok, but again, we don’t use it like we probably should. We have an Instagram, but we’re not exactly avid Reel creators. In fact, it took us a while to even make it public.

Why should we post everything we do just to collect likes or seek approval? Why can’t we grow organically, no matter how slow that growth may be? It just feels more authentic to us.

We’re not saying that we’ll never do YouTube or become social media creators in the future, but right now, it’s definitely something we struggle with…

What’s your opinion on content creation?
